In its 49th year successfully delivering parcels and pallets to all corners of our great state, Cochrane’s Transport has expanded their South Australian network of depots, establishing a brand new Fleurieu transport and logistics hub in Victor Harbor.
The new depot will bolster transport and freight services to the entire Fleurieu Peninsula. Depot Manager Mark Anderton told us “the depot is now in full operation on Lincoln Park Drive. We have a fantastic local team and a fleet of vehicles of varying sizes to cater for all our customers’ requirements”.
In the early hours of the morning Cochrane’s semi-trailers bring freight destined for the Fleurieu from their Headquarters in Gillman to the Victor depot. From there, the locally based fleet delivers to homes and businesses that same day. They also collect parcels, pallets and other goods for South Australian delivery or on-forwarding.
In addition to large well-known national companies, Cochrane’s Transport customers include small and medium size businesses and individuals who have regular deliveries as well as one-off orders.
Founder and Managing Director of Cochrane’s Transport, Peter Cochrane said, “Whilst we’ve delivered to and from Victor Harbor, Encounter Bay, Port Elliot, Goolwa, Cape Jervis and surrounding areas for many years, this new depot extends our capacity and flexibility to meet the demands of this fast-growing region.”
This proudly SA family-owned and run company has come a long way from its humble beginnings, starting out in a garage in suburban Adelaide back in 1974. Director Jodie Hill explained “We are dedicated to serving regional SA and we are excited to launch this terrific new depot at Victor Harbor. We have a brilliant team of locals who know SA and the Fleurieu and we look forward to providing better than ever express freight services to the local community”.
Cochrane’s Transport supports local communities all over South Australia, and is now a proud sponsor of the Victor Harbor Football Club. The new sponsors attended football training on Thursday night where juniors were able to get up close and personal with the big red truck. Both Cochrane's Transport and Victor Harbor Football Club are excited about the new partnership and look forward to working together in the future.
